ODC of J2EE development for a UK ISV gets 5 more developers infused. (January 15, 2008)

Shinetech is now running a 15-member ODC for a vertical market ISV based in UK. The ODC is responsible to help the client transform its business concept into working software product.

The two companies started the cooperation in January,2007 from a 3-member ODC for the capability evaluation purpose. The team soon won the client’s trust by professional performance and the deep understanding and analysis of the business. The latter gave more and more responsibilities to shinetech and the lastest addtion of 5 more members was signed recently, and the ODC team grows to 15 people to date, and is still evolving. It is now dedicated in the full cycle product development from business modeling, product vision (requirement definition) to the whole product development.

The required product is a business tool with a web browser interface which allows material management, regulatory management, manufacturing, and sales & marketing etc for fragrance and flavoring manufacturing industries. It also needs to be internationalized for the global market.

The system is required to be cross – platform running on Windows, Linux and AIX with WebSphere as the application server. The popular technologies like J2EE and AJAX are used.

Since this is a large scale industry application with over 100 man-month expected in the first development cycle and requires flexibility. Shinetech adopted RUP within the project for the guaranteed high quality and timely communication/modification of the product.
