What The Client Wanted
The client wanted a Java-based mobile music game. The main concept of
which is that big fish eating small fish. The player controls the game
and will be rewarded with a piece of very special music once small fish
being eaten by big fish.
The client's requirements included:
designing the game and detailed game development documents;
creating original game pictures and ad propaganda posters;
producing game demo;
and the game required to:
support English, French, Germany, Italian and Spanish;
support Cell phone screens of 352×416, 240×320, 176×220, 208×208, 128×160, 128×128, etc.
migrate to near 80 types of cell phones like Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, I-Mate, LG, Siemens, etc.
support several types of keyboards and touch screens;
produce game installation packages;
allow users to download internal version and test version from the web site;
deliver gold version of all types of cell phones to the client based on milestone.
Our Solutions
Combined highly efficient project team with optimal development flow:
Our
game designers firstly designed the game, and then the art designers
produced the pictures based on the game designers' description;
Art
designers produced all pictures in Master version, and then one
programmer designed main logics of the game, such as affair handling,
(game) major cycle, (game) drawing logic, while another programmer was
responsible for concreting function design, such as menu, data store,
game operation, etc., after the confirmation of Master version, we
began to integrate the game into the cell phones;
Developed
the game utilizing professional mobile game development tool kit. We
adopted integrated development tools produced by a famous American
mobile game development tool provider to migrate the game. The tool
integrated the functions of picture resource handling, map editor,
porting tool and simulator, which greatly reduced the development cost
and time;
Multi-test to guarantee perfect
bug-free game. Game functionality was confirmed after testing by
simulator, our team and the client's team. We used Google Sheet and
Bugzilla to manage the testing processes.
